Additionally, check back with the Best Western Hood River as they will release more rooms beginning July 3, 2025.

Our Wedding Party

Chrissy Kleespies - Maid of Honor

I’m Chrissy and have the privilege of being Lauren’s Maid of Honor. I live in London, UK and enjoy hiking, tea, and guinea pigs. Lauren and I met while we were at Mount Holyoke College and became best friends. In our senior year we even lived next door to each other in the same dorm and would talk to each other through the walls! I met Daniel in person for the first time at our 15 year Mount Holyoke reunion and I’m so happy that Lauren has met such a wonderful person and can’t wait to celebrate with them on their special day!!

Matt Sigman - Man of Honor

I'm Lauren's older brother, currently living in the Seattle area with my fiance Sequoia and our daughter Aurora. I manage software teams at Amazon Prime Air – the autonomous delivery drones – and when I'm not working we're usually out sailing on our 45 foot sailboat Serafina. I remember helping Lauren navigate the early days of their dating relationship and distinctly remember even then, how excited she was. I'm so happy for Lauren and Daniel and glad this day has finally come!!

Ben Gardner - Best Man

Ben Gardner (Daniel's twin) conducted top secret missions as a US Navy submarine officer before accepting his current role working on lunar lander electrical systems. His greatest accomplishment is leveraging his wife's statistical expertise to prove that he is better at the video game Call of Duty than both Daniel and Lauren. Lauren by a smaller margin.

Ali Sax - Bridesmaid

My name is Ali. Lauren and I became friends while spending countless hours studying (and probably annoying the other inhabitants) in the medical school library. We had an absolute blast together in Boston though, culminating in an epic trip to Key West where we got temporary tattoos, made friends with a dancer curtesy of Tony, and laughed our butts off while the drag queens hit on Trever.

Sigman is truly an adventurous, kind, and understanding friend. I am so honored to be a part of hers and Daniel’s wedding and I can’t wait to celebrate with everyone. Cheers!

Jonathan Todd - Groomsman

I met Lauren and Daniel fortuitiously through my lovely wife Jenna (one of the bridesmaids!). We immediately had a marvelous rapport, especially after Daniel saw my copy of "The Republic" on my bookshelf (don't tell him I haven't actually read it ;)) and I actually knew what a ten blade is. We shared a love of dogs, board games, outdoor adventures, BBQ, more than a few beers, espresso, scotch, and of course, The Expanse and Battlestar Galactica. L&D are some of the most beautiful people we know and we are truly grateful for their friendship. I cannot wait to celebrate their love. But first, I am going to crush Daniel in a game of Twilight Imperium 4 at his bachelor party :P

Jenna Wiley - Bridesmaid

I first met Daniel back in med school in North Carolina, having gone on some climbing and outdoor excursions together, and separately met Lauren in Portland while working together in the Emergency Department.

I kept hearing stories of this surgical resident that Lauren started dating and when it finally became evident it was Daniel, I was super excited two people I knew found each other!

The adventures continue as we have all become great friends, from epic board game weekends of Twilight Imperium, to horseback riding through vineyards, to dinner nights and escape rooms, to finding ways to steal their cavaliers for lap cuddles, Lauren and Daniel bring such a joy to the world and I couldn't be happier to celebrate them!

Janelle Badger - Bridesmaid

Dr. JJ Badger once spent a summer tackling bighorn sheep for minimum wage. She has bottle-fed a grizzly bear, and been chased by angry mother seals in pursuit of science. She met Ben Gardner while on Oahu and consented to marry him mostly to be able to spend more time with Daniel, Lauren, and their dogs Copper and Pippin, who are awesome enough to make up for his many shortcomings.

Tyrell Jagelski _ Groomsman

I've known Dan for 19 years, and despite that, we are still friends. We first met in high school cross country where Dan introduced me to his eclectic taste in music. Our friendship grew from there through various clubs, activities, and Karïn's cooking. I've always appreciated being able to talk about more serious things with him such as medicine or poetry, and then two seconds later find myself listening to his dumb whale joke for the umpeenth time. I've known Lauren for less time, but was immediately impressed by her compassion and intelligence. She also seems to have discovered the secret about Dan that many fail to realize. That despite what it may seem, he's actually not that bad.

Mekhala Dissanayake - Groomsperson

I met Dan through our high school debate team, which tells you a lot about us: we’re nerds and you’re going to hear about it. Dan welcomed our friend group into his family’s tradition of making elaborate gingerbread houses, which has allowed our friendship to flourish even through great distances and time. We share a love of fantasy novels, food, and training at superior institutions (Go Ducks, Go Heels, and Go… OHSU!). Dan has always been a good sport about us making fun of his dancing skills (terrible) and his MCAT score (literally the highest). Lauren is smart, funny, kind, and an excellent complement to Dan, especially because of her patience for the smartest doofus you’ll ever meet.

Michael and Daniel.jpeg

Michael - Groomsman

I had the distinct honor and privilege of performing next to Daniel in the trombone section of sixth grade band.  As many 6th grade boys wielding the loudest of brass instruments would, we had  a ... blast.  Our friendship only crescendoed from there, scaling into many Dungeons and Dragons games, 4 years on the high school debate team, a stint as college roommates, and a skiing trip where -- while chasing the more-talented-than-me Dan -- I crashed & dislocated my shoulder and needed surgery.  While the now-Dr. Gardner, M.D., was not yet qualified to perform that surgery, he did take care of a very-loopy-me post-op.  Daniel is a multi-talented, kind, generous human being who is among the most brilliant people I have ever encountered.  While my time knowing Lauren has been shorter, I find her just as impressive as I do Daniel -- and I am so grateful they love & have each other.  It's rare that you find two people you would beg to be trapped in an epic-level escape room with.

Aurora - Flower girl

I'm so excited to be the flower girl for Aunty Lauren and Uncle Daniel! I love them very much and can't wait to open all the cabinets in their new house and eat their puff snacks!
